Appointment Policy

Please call ahead to schedule an appointment.

We operate primarily by appointment because your time is important to us, and we want to allow ample time for you and your pet to receive  the full attention of our veterinarians.  We are always working hard to see every patient on time, but occasionally a delay is inevitable as critically ill patients and emergencies have to be given top priority.  We appreciate your understanding when such a delay occurs.

Same day appointments will be offered to our existing clients with sick pets.

If you are a current client of Mt. Zion Animal Clinic, we will do our very best to work your sick pet into a full schedule for same day medical care.  If you feel that you have not been offered same day care when needed, please ask to speak directly with one of our veterinarians.

No appointment is required for pets needing urgent medical attention.

We will see any of our patients needing urgent medical attention during regular business hours.  While no appointment is necessary, we ask that you try to call us to alert us of the emergency and your estimated arrival time.  This allows us to be ready to help your pet the moment you arrive.

Drop off appointments are available.

Drop-off appointments are available for your convenience if your schedule prevents you from attending a regular appointment.  For a drop off appointment a pet is usually dropped off at the clinic in the morning and picked up later that day.  Once your pet is finished being evaluated our veterinarian will call you to discuss everything, and to arrange a pick up time.  Please call ahead to schedule a drop off appointment.

Patient Arrival Policy

Because the safety of our clients, patients, and our staff is very important to us, we require pets to remain up to date on their rabies vaccine, and we ask that all patients be placed on a leash or in a pet carrier before entering the building.  Animals can be somewhat unpredictable if they get a little stressed, and it's always better to err on the side of caution.  If you are in need of a leash or carrier for your visit, we would be happy to provide you with one.
